Prior to finalizing plant selections, careful attention and consideration should be given to the site itself.  Each site should be evaluated for the following:

  • Slope
  • Hardiness zone
  • Exposure
  • Amount of Light
  • Soil type
  • Drainage
  • Soil pH

After site evalutation, choose plant material that will adapt well to that particular location.  Match the needs of the plant to the site.  When choosing plant material, it is also important to consider the growthn habit and ultimate size, maintenance needs, pest resistance, function and potential invasiveness.

If you are unsure of what type of plant you want in a location, come to the nursery with your site evaluation done and our experts can help guide you to appropriate plant material that will thrive in your area.
