This year don't be surprised if you don't see your favorite geranium varieties. Check out the new names given to some popular geranium cultivars.
This year geranium growers changed several names of geranium cultivars. Since there are 124 different cultivars of geraniums, efforts were made to create separate categories of geraniums. Some previous names didn’t work within this system and so they needed to be changed. Below are some of the most noticeable changes so you won’t be surprised when picking out geraniums this spring. Remember, these are the exact same plant as previous years, just renamed:
Classic Zonal Geraniums: These varieties are the traditional geraniums with medium green leaves, medium vigor and excellent garden performance.
